Roof Repairs in Barnsley

Most leaks start small: a cracked tile, a slipped slate or a failed bit of flashing. We find where the water is actually getting in and fix the cause, not just the stain on the ceiling.

  • The leak traced to its source, not guessed at
  • Photographs of the problem before we fix it
  • An honest view on whether a repair will last

The detail

Roof Repairs in Barnsley: what is actually involved

Water rarely comes in directly above the stain on your ceiling. It runs along battens and felt before it drips, so the first job is finding where it actually enters. We check the tiles, the flashing, the valleys and the ridge, and the loft where we can get into it.

Common repairs around Barnsley are slipped and cracked tiles, failed mortar on ridges and verges, split lead flashing at chimneys and walls, and blocked or broken valleys. Most are a day or less once access is in place.

If a repair is only going to buy a few months, we will say so and show you the photographs. Where a repair is the right answer, that is what we quote for.

Questions

Roof Repairs questions

The things homeowners ask us most, answered without the sales talk.

See all FAQs
How quickly can you come out to a leak?

Ring us and we will arrange a visit as soon as we can. If water is coming in, we can usually tell you what to do over the phone to limit the damage in the meantime.

Can you repair a roof in the rain?

Some temporary work can be done in wet weather to stop water getting in. Permanent repairs are done when it is dry enough to do them properly.

Is it worth repairing an old roof?

Often, yes. If the tiles and timbers are sound, a targeted repair can keep a roof going for years. If they are not, we will show you why and talk you through the options.

Do you need scaffolding for a repair?

Not always. Small repairs can often be done from ladders or a roof ladder. Where it is not safe to do so, we include access in the quote.
